Learn just enough audio: sample rate (phone calls are 8 kHz narrow-band; web calls are 16–48 kHz), codecs (G.711 μ-law/A-law on phone lines, Opus on the web), mono audio in small chunks (frames of 20 ms). Phone audio is lower quality, so STT is harder — always test on real phone audio, not your laptop mic.
